Join Amy for a luxurious two hour Yin practice that is designed to encourage balance in the
mind and body. This workshop will take us on a journey through the seven Chakras, or main
energy centers, of the body. We will learn more about the specific location and function of
each chakra as well as ways to foster balance through yoga, sound and meditation.
Yin Yoga is a perfect balance to the Yang of our fast paced lives. This workshop will take us on an inner journey to cultivate mindfulness, an awareness of our internal responses and the fluctuations of the mind.
A slow, meditative and intense practice, Yin yoga is practiced while seated or lying down. Postures are held in stillness for long holds (1-10 minutes). Because Yin targets the connective tissues such as ligaments and fascia rather than muscles, the release from Yin is unlike that from other classes. A perfect compliment to dynamic forms of yoga, Yin promotes deep release and relaxation.
